Terms of Use
Roq, by TAFROLOGYA LTD. Last updated 31 October 2026.
Using Roq
By using Roq you agree to these terms. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial chess play and study.
Fair play
Do not use engines, other programs or outside help during online games, and do not stall to run down your opponent's clock. Players can report a game from its menu; we review reports. We may end games, reset ratings or suspend accounts that break this rule. Fair-play scans are statistical estimates; do not harass or publicly accuse anyone based on them.
Opponents
When no human opponent is available you may be paired with a computer-controlled practice partner that plays like a human player. These games are rated.
Display names
Choose a display name that is not offensive or impersonating. You can report other players from the game screen.
Subscriptions
Paid features are billed by Apple or Google and renew until cancelled in your store account settings.
Third-party games
Games imported from chess.com or lichess come from their public data; those sites are not affiliated with Roq.
Open-source software
Roq includes the Stockfish chess engine and other open-source components under their own licences.
Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, TAFROLOGYA LTD is not liable for indirect losses arising from its use.
